Hart House Darkroom and Camera Club Assistant
Established in 1919, the Hart House Camera Club provides various photography courses designed to improve skills and deepen photography as a creative practice. Hart House operates a traditional darkroom facility to develop and process black-and-white analogue films for students and the community. One of the few remaining wet darkrooms in the city, the Hart House darkroom facilities include the chemicals and tools needed to develop black-and-white film and create silver gelatin prints. We seek a Hart House Darkroom and Camera Club Assistant to work as part of a team responsible for the weekly upkeep of a wet-chemistry darkroom facility and coordination of club activities, programs, and events.
Hop Education Exhibition Researcher & Program Facilitator
The Hart House Hip Hop Education Exhibition Researcher & Program Facilitator will work closely with Hart House program staff to provide content research, recommendations for exhibition curation, artistic vision and ideation around complementary exhibition programming. The Exhibition Researcher will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of a newly created Hip Hop visual art display. This exhibition will focus on the history of women in Hip Hop with a particular vision to amplify and honour Canadian women in Hip Hop behind and in front of the Hip Hop scene. The Exhibition Researcher & Program Facilitator will be mentored by staff in a supportive environment that will include, content experts and an opportunity for peer to peer learning and engagement with other work study students. The Exhibition Researcher & Program Facilitator will be guided through a process of program and exhibition design planning and execution with work focusing on 3 main areas: Generating independent research on specific content directed by staff to create a body of work that can be reviewed and presented for final presentation; Co-facilitating additional programming through social media efforts and preparing materials for digital display and; Supporting this initiative through the sourcing or creation of graphic assets. This role may require the candidate to work both in-person and in virtual settings. Candidate must be results driven and able to work independently and productively while also taking constructive direction from staff and working well as a contributing team member with both staff and students that are connected to the project.

Get Crafty! Creative Program Assistant- Hart House
Get Crafty! is a series of free weekly drop-in craft workshops that happen from September to April. Students from all three U of T campuses are invited to join our weekly sessions, with all tools and materials provided, free of charge. It is an opportunity to take a break, meet other students, connect with the facilitators, and try new crafts and art projects. The goal of Get Crafty! is to promote wellness, alleviate stress, make friends, learn through practice (and failures!) all while inviting creativity and play. The main goal for this project is to create a suite of lesson plans and prototypes for each project that will act as a guide our student facilitators. Hart House Hip Hop Education Program Facilitator
The Hart House Hip Hop Education Program Facilitator will work closely with Hart House staff to support planning, delivery, and evaluation of our Lyricists' Lounge Program, which seeks to build community around songwriting, poetry, emceeing, and the craft of lyric-writing and self-expression. The Program Facilitator will provide research and planning to 3 main areas: 1) work with partners to co-create weekly or bi-weekly programming during the April - August 2023 timeframe ; 2) Co-facilitate in-person programming with partners, engaging students and community participants; and 3) supporting this and other programs with administrative, graphic, outreach, and content-creation support. This role will require the candidate to work in both in-person and virtual settings. ,Must be results driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Audio Editor for Student Podcast-REAPER
We are seeking a student to help us edit our student-produced podcast. A small team of student podcasters create audio stories about topics that are important to students, interviews with artists, educators, activists, and the occasional soundscape or experimental audio piece. Our podcast has been broadcast on the U of T radio station, CIUT FM, and we hope this years's season will be too. Our podcast is distributed on all of the usual platforms and through Hart House U of T channels. The Creative Programs Social Media Assistant will work with our team to design, produce, edit video content such as reels, & tutorials, for our social media channels. This work includes collaborating with a team to schedule and shoot instructional videos and promotions , and transforming raw files created by the team into engaging content for social media.

Contact Management & Outreach Tool
Our Community Access & Outreach programming have expanded significantly over the past 5 years and the number of contacts we’d like to stay in touch with has equally grown. We are hoping to better organize and utilize our contact list which is currently housed in an Excel spreadsheet and/or on social media. We would like the student to research and provide us with recommendations on how to improve our current processes and support creating a solution that easily allows us to update, track and manage communication with various stakeholders. Additionally, if an approved solution is created, the student will support us with the data transition and setting up the system for success.
Hart House Hip Hop Education Program Research Assistant
The Hart House Hip Hop Education Program Research Assistant will work closely with our Community Connector Residency lead to create content, research prospective programs and assist with general administration tasks related to the project. The Program Research Assistant will provide research and planning to 3 main areas: 1) Source candidates from within the Hip Hop community locally and abroad to act as participants for an audio based project, 2) Research and make recommendations for developing an in depth hip hop pedagogical resource guide specifically related to the the areas of Hip Hop and disability and Hip Hop and the LGBTQ2S+ community 3) to help create a student facing marketing plan that will assist Communications with outreach, branding and amplification of the Hip Hop Education program. SharePoint Project Assistant - Staff Relations & Professional Development
The SharePoint Project Assistant will support the Staff Relations and Professional Development team in the design and development of its SharePoint site. This pilot initiative will provide the Hart House workforce with timely HR policy, process and protocol information, resources and tools, as well as learning & development opportunities and other announcements. Job Duties: Provide support in developing and leveraging SharePoint Online solutions, pages and site collections, lists, libraries, templates, and sub-sites, to meet the needs of the department Assist in the design and development of site content and structure settings, site hierarchy, and site collection navigation · Edit and customize content and pages · Create, migrate/upload content for SharePoint site · Ensure uniform navigation throughout site Troubleshooting and resolving various technical issues related to SharePoint Skills & Qualifications: · Must be current full-time postsecondary student enrolled in Canadian institution · SharePoint site design, product knowledge and implementation experience · Understanding of how Site, Lists and Libraries work and proficiency with managing content for users · Knowledge of current SharePoint Online/O365 services and standards including Teams and OneDrive · Ability to architect solutions using SharePoint Online functionality · Experience using SharePoint Site Apps · Experience creating and modifying documents to be compliant with accessibility legislation (AODA/WCAG) · Proven initiative, creativity and problem-solving skills · Excellent organizational and time management skills · Must be able to work independently and be results driven

The Hart House Hip Hop Education Project Assistant, will support project lead and contribute to specific project goals/outcomes that enhance the student experience. The Project Assistant, will work on 3 key areas: to contribute to and help build a robust Hip Hop Education program geared towards in class delivery, work as a facilitator for scheduled program(s) and create and maintain a resource list focusing on critical Hip Hop pedagogy literature. This role will require candidate to work remotely primarily but may include some in person engagement as restrictions allow. Must be able to work independently and be results driven. Story Telling and Assessment at Hart House
An opportunity for a student who is passionate about the power of story to create change, shift perspectives and deepen understanding. The Level UP placement should be keen to gain hands-on experience in gathering stories (including possibly some of their own), conducting assigned interviews, and exploring story telling methods around key initiatives at Hart House along the themes of social justice, equity, decolonization, reconciliation and community engagement with a particular focus on giving a platform to diverse voices and experiences. They will have an opportunity to interact with a broad range of contacts from staff, faculty, students and community members. Job duties include: Learning about story telling best practices Develop story telling evaluation strategy
