Virtual Internship Opportunity: Marketing Details Moodie is a technology-based private sector company able to offer a virtual internship opportunity for 5 marketing students. The projects to be undertaken will include these areas of focus: Social Media and Generalized Marketing Audit Conduct a social media audit to establish a baseline for social performance, branding efforts and new opportunities; the audit is to focus on the following areas: Current social media profiles Engagement & publishing Audiences Social media referral traffic Focus on Instagram and Facebook Landscape Analysis Customer Segmentation Key Messages and Content Our goal at the end of this experience is to have a Marketing Plan in place to promote: Growth of our social media presence Social Media Marketing Plan We want the student to work with the team to set marketing goals, conduct a social media audit, analyze the market research gathered, identify different social media audiences, develop multiple marketing strategies including Influencer Marketing, implementation scheduling, and evaluation. We want to create solid Business Objectives, Social Media Goals, and Metrics with the following in mind: Expand the Moodie brand using social media channels Confirm tone of voice and brand identity Reduce churn and strengthen customer loyalty Create post templates in Canva Guarantee Moodie stays focused and current Curated content and content calendar using a xls spreadsheet to track and plan posts Activity metrics: audience size, fans, followers, impressions, app installs, conversions, email sign-ups, website clicks(We have this data and need to utilize it to make changes as we move forward) Have students engage with our social media platforms with reactions, likes, shares, tweets, favourites, pins, comments, mentions, and reshares. The plan will include the following: Market Research The student will create a strong buyer persona to facilitate a better understanding of Moodie’s social media presence in order to align messaging to promote brand unity and increase brand awareness. Influencer Marketing: The student will construct an influencer persona to help identify which influencers to reach out to; establish who Moodie’s customers consider to be an influencer and measure which influencers have the strongest engagement per post; determine Moodie’s top three potential influencers; act as an ambassador for the Moodie brand and establish contact with those influencers; develop content specifically generated for those networks. Digital Marketing: The student will help to improve our online presence, reach more customers and effectively promote our brand through compelling content and design materials. Content Marketing: The student will focus on creating valuable, relevant and consistent content in order to attract and retain a clearly defined audience. Meaningful content creates brand awareness, attracts and retains loyal customer bases and engages with new customers. Students must monitor social trends and conversations for creative content, focusing on opportunities that are relevant in time, message and value to Moodie’s audience and can capitalize on trends that are relevant to the Moodie brand..

Main Challenges Challenge 1: We need support designing an ‘effective’ app marketing strategy from a solid marketing team for our App Launch November 2021. We need to have the team we work with do some implementation for the Launch with Influencer Marketing, Market Research, App Store Optimization, Social Media posts, some SEO, and also utilize our staff to help with this implementation for the launch. We are looking to achieve a significant amount of downloads for that week and need to make sure we are set up for success. Challenge 2: Getting significant app downloads as users install the app that appears in search results and have an optimized the App Store listing for better discoverability in app store, get user reviews from app and obtain influencers and app reviewers to promote our app. Challenge 3: Getting high retention rates is difficult without testing, market research, marketing strategy, to the right users and changing the app UX. Marketing Plan We want to keep these areas in mind for the plan: Market Research : The student will create a user case study and conduct a meta-analysis of comparable products to facilitate a better understanding of the target market and to ensure optimal positioning/pricing alignment for our target sector/customer. The student will investigate other options to increase conversion rates and boost our sales team's performance. Public Relations : The student will help us to effectively communicate our brand's story, vision and mission to a broader audience. SEO: The student will research and generate the optimal keywords and placement for a focused SEO effort to reveal which website pages get the most traffic from the identified target strategy. Influencer Recruitment : Highlight influencers in the community and encourage them to be a part of the Moodie story. Social Marketing Strategy: It has been shown that digital and social media marketing can have a positive effect on a company’s brand.
