Welcome to Concordia University of Edmonton's Magazine Editing and Production course—an immersive journey into the world of literary and scholarly magazines. At the heart of our program is the creation of the inaugural issue of The Magpie, the English department's undergraduate journal. Our students not only gain a deep understanding of the editorial process but also actively contribute to the production of a tangible and valuable literary piece. Learners in this program: Are experienced writers that possess strong editing & formatting skills Superior senior students with enhanced leadership skills and are capable of working independently with limited supervision.

During the IT Internship work experience, students prepare to enter the professional world by learning about professional etiquette, networking, resumes and interviews, as well as expanding their horizons and networks through Industry Forums and interviews. In the work placement experience students develop new work skills, showcase their talents to employers, and generally increase their confidence. At the same time, students introduce new ideas and creativity into a workplace, meet new people, and become part of a professional network. The Internship typically takes place over the last semester of studies. By then, it is expected that students have the basic theoretical and technical knowledge, the initiative, and the understanding to enable them to contribute meaningfully to a ‘real-world’ information technology setting.
