effective communication applied psychology ethical standards and conduct self-awareness human services psychologyWelcome to Concordia University of Edmonton's (CUE) Applied Emphasis Psychology program! In our program we nurture the next generation of professionals in psychology through a comprehensive undergraduate curriculum integrated with practical experience. Our students are dynamic, motivated individuals seeking to make a real difference in the world through their work in human services and clinical settings.
In our Applied Emphasis program, students undergo a rigorous selection process to ensure they possess both the academic foundation and personal qualities necessary for success in the field. With a focus on ethical practices and effective communication, our students are well-prepared to tackle the challenges of real-world scenarios.
Learners
Upon completion of their placement, students will present about their experience to their student cohort and faculty supervisor. Placement sites may also require students to develop a report or presentation as part of their work with the organization.
Our students contribute meaningfully to the work of their placement site and are a positive resource for both supervisors and clients. Through their placement, our students begin to understand how their academic learning translates into "real-life" work. They complete their placements with more clarity about how they can support work psychology-allied fields and a developing sense of identity as a growing professional. At the end of the academic year, our students reflect on their experience with increased self-awareness and self-efficacy.
