Non-profit Youth Programs Launch in Sustainable STEM
The Human and Nature Youth Club is focused on providing educational and fun programs for youth with an emphasis on developing their naturalistic intelligence and social responsibility. HNYC is launching a new club chapter initiative for high school students called NatureX. Interested high school students will open a Nature X club in their school and go through the process and journey of running a club and leading their peers to complete the NatureX curriculum. The student(s) for this project will be assisting to create the general framework of the future clubs: rule book, procedures, curriculum, advertising, website design, copywrite, etc. Essentially support all the preparatory work before HNYC can welcome its first group of club leaders!
Climate Change & Sustainability Youth Policy Demands Lobbying
In September 2023, a Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) was hosted in Canada. LCOYs are a conference framework from the UNFCCC global youth consistency YOUNGO that invites youth and youth-led entities in a country to come together to build capacity and make policy demands ahead of each year's United Nations Conference on Climate Change (the yearly Conference of Parties for the UNFCCC). Typically these demands are not intentionally distributed within the country the LCOY is hosted in. This project is focused on sharing the youth policy demands from LCOY Canada 2023 with relevant policy makers, decision makers, and groups. The policy demands are focused on the topics of the conference: Low-carbon energy, climate finance, sustainable cities, biodiversity, the ocean, the arctic, food and agriculture, climate justice, and youth-led politics.

We want students to help us create beautiful and engaging graphic design assets for a few public relation campaigns and areas likes social media, our website, and print material. The graphic design will revolve around event-based purposes, e.g. event website, brochures, posters, etc. Our target is to to build a healthy base of graphic design content to be used throughout the conference. We are looking for students with a stylistic interest in nature themed design. We want an analytical and positive Policy Advisor (At least 3rd year undergrad or above) to help us write a professional policy document for a Canada-wide youth-led climate change conference following a United Nations framework. The policy document will be demands by Canadian youth to Canadian decision-makers on action they need to take on climate change and sustainability within Canada, as well as more broadly to the world leaders at COP. We wish to write a specific and detailed document that references existing Canadian policy/legislation. This project is focused on ensuring the policy document is effective, relevant, and practical to current policy in Canada and so it can make an impact in the COP conference. Key Responsibilities: Advise us on current policy in Canada surrounding climate change, sustainability, especially in climate justice, biodiversity, building sustainable communities, and extreme weather Consult/help to write an effective policy document
Engagement & Social Media Coordinator - Climate Change and Sustainability
We are looking for an organized and social media savvy individual with strong communication knowledge to help grow and implement LCOY Canada’s social media communication. This role will involve using your expertise in communication, graphic design, social media channels, and customer service to oversee anything and everything related to running LCOY Canada’s social media. The role will be under the Public Relations (PR) team and work largely independently. Furthermore, the individual will drive LCOY Canada’s engagement efforts across youth and youth organization. This role will involve using your expertise in communications and relationship building to oversee our efforts to meaningfully engage youth-focused organizations for their participation in the conference. The role will assist the LCOY Canada Conference Organizer and Engagement Lead to continue to manage the existing relationship with partnered organizations, build new ones, and build the attendance of youth for LCOY Canada.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to drive Human and Nature Youth Club's marketing and engagement efforts to ensure the organization's activities are widely circulated and effectively accessible to all youth in Canada. French Translation and Engagement - Climate Change Conference
We are hosting a national youth climate change conference and to be truly national we need to be accessible to the Francophone community in Canada! Our conference follows a U.N framework called LCOY. The purpose of LCOY is to gather youth and youth organizations in a country to talk about climate change issues relevant to their country. The issues and perspectives that are shared during the conference are taken and turned into a policy document, demanding decision makers take action. This project will help us translate translate communication material (e.g. our social media, website, print material) and the policy document into French and help us invite French-Canadian youth to our conference (via email outreach).

Marketing Strategy Plan for Experiential Nature Summer Camps
About our camps: Our summer camps are 5-day day-camps, Monday-Friday, which run continuously through July and August. Our camps are broken into an online morning science lesson that follows with an experiential afternoon fieldtrip to a nature location in the City of Vancouver. About our marketing strategy project: We want students to help us build a marketing strategy plan for our experiential nature summer camps. Our target is to grow and engage our target market of Metro Vancouver parents with kids in Grade 1 - 7 and increase sales with them. We would like to know how we can maximize use of different channels and get recommendations to improve our messaging. This project is focused on helping to build a strategy from scratch for a young organization rather than content/ad creation or managing existing campaigns. We are looking for students to get us started on the right foot this year with marketing to make our summer camps a success. Scope: The main questions we would like students to help us answer are the following, How do parents currently perceive our brand and marketing? What channels should we utilize for promotion? How can we effectively generate sales as a young organization? How could we better explain our value proposition? Key Responsibilities: Develop a successful Feb-July marketing strategy that will match our market and reach our target audience Assist in creating an optimized value proposition Conduct light market research to create successful marketing strategies from Requirements: Knowledgeable about marketing Knowledgeable about current marketing channels and creating tailored strategy for an organization/specific service Projects Goals: Assist our organization to learn marketing strategy and converting our campaigns to revenue in a way that is tailored to us. Our goals are flexible to the best knowledge student can share during their time with us.
