Experience Feedback
McNeese students produced a mobile app for our annual Space Apps Ottawa hackathon event. This app dynamically loads event information from a section our website and will improve our participants' hackathon experience greatly. The McNeese class and their professor Bei Xie did a tremendous job identifying and exploring the requirements, and produced the app in multiple iterations that allowed me to provide regular input while continuously progressing the development. Working with them was a smooth and professional process, and I hope they are justifiably proud of their great work, which does them credit!

Experience Feedback
We are in the design and planning phase of a new climate change impact planning software product (related to "UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts"). The product will recommend a set of actions that ordinary citizens can take to avoid, mitigate, adapt, or rebuild from climate change disasters.
We asked McNeese students to build a mobile application that allows ordinary citizens to view actions they can take, track their progress, complete tasks, and upload proof (pictures and videos). They can also chat and request help from trusted authorities.
The mobile app they produced is a prototype that helps us identify the actual mobile app requirements and design, and desired user experience. It lacks some of the chat and other functionality we were hoping to see, and is missing a level of polish and quality control. However this project was disrupted by COVID-19 and we believe this is a reflection of that. The app does meet our overall goals of providing a prototype mobile app we can use to demonstrate our concept, and so we thank the students for their work.
