Frontend Development for the new Web3 App - CODEX
The main goal for the project is to help design and develop the frontend of our new company tool web app for Cascadia Carbon. This will involve working with UI designers to implement a responsive react app, which is single page dynamic and fluent, pulls information from our Firestore database and needs to display currently bought/registered trees on the platform. The redesigned frontend also needs to be linked to the current decentralized app for a smoother user experience.
Carbonaut Platform Development - Backend
The Carbonaut Platform Enhancement Project targets the utilization of student developers' expertise to bolster the backend functionality of the Carbonaut platform by Cascadia Carbon. Within this initiative, students will actively engage in backend development to introduce essential features such as in-app camera capabilities, integration of 3D mapping, and optimization of various backend components to establish a more unified and feature-rich experience.
Carbonaut Campus Ambassador
Cascadia Carbon is the company building a photosynthetic finance game built on real, living, growing physical assets $CODEX, as documented by you via #NFTrees. 1 Tokenize a tree in your yard @ https://carbonaut.app 2 Go on easy neighborhood tree walks near your home, and help others tokenize trees 3 Earn $CODEX crypto tokens for your contributions. 4 Reduce your own emissions in real-time, and track your #NFTrees' ongoing removal of historical human emissions. To become a Carbonaut brand ambassador you must accept our Cascadian Code of Conduct. Cascadia Carbon is a decentralized bioregional organization based in the PNW (USA and Canada). We exist to better align economic value and environmental good and ascribe to the Cascadian bioregional principles of Equity, Community, and Mutual Aid. Gamified Tree Tracking Platform
The main goal for the project is to create a gamified platform that allows young urban environmentalists to track and monitor trees in their area. The platform should be engaging and interactive, encouraging users to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts. Badges, quests, and Easter eggs will add stickiness.
Decentralized Application for Carbon-Negative-Assets
The main goal for the project is to create a decentralized application that allows users to connect their metamask wallet, login using their wallet address, add a tree to their account, and receive an estimate on how much CODEX they can earn based on the information provided about the tree's species, height, diameter, health, and a few images for verification. This application will be used to tokenize carbon-negative-assets for the company Cascadia Carbon.
Web3 Solidity Smart Contract Development for Token Launch
The main goal for the project is to develop and integrate a web3 solidity smart contract and assist with the token launch on the Ethereum platform for Cascadia Carbon, a company that tokenizes carbon-negative-assets. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Learning about the company's mission and goals related to carbon-negative-assets. - Developing and integrating a web3 solidity smart contract for the token launch on the Ethereum platform. - Assisting with the technical aspects of the token launch process. - Collaborating with the company's team to ensure the successful implementation of the smart contract and token launch.
Cascadia Carbon Twitter Management
The main goal for the project is to have a student manage the Cascadia Carbon Twitter account, posting tweets about the latest company findings and keeping the public up to date with the token launch and any new information. The student will need to engage with the audience and ensure the company's message is effectively communicated through Twitter.
UI Update for Cascadia Carbon Company Site
The main goal for the project is to update the user interface of the Cascadia Carbon company site using a frontend framework such as React or Angular. The updated UI should effectively showcase the tokenized carbon-negative-assets offered by the company and provide a seamless user experience for visitors to the site.
Carbonaut Platform Development
Overview: The Carbonaut Platform Enhancement Project aims to leverage the skills and creativity of student developers to enhance the functionality and user experience of the Carbonaut platform, by Cascadia Carbon. In this project, students will actively contribute by adding key features such as in-app camera functionality, integrating 3D maps, and refining various aspects of the user interface (UI) to create a more cohesive and feature-rich experience. Project Scope: In-App Camera Functionality: Students will research and implement in-app camera functionality to empower users to capture and share real-time environmental observations. This feature will encourage users to contribute visually to the platform, enhancing data collection and engagement. Integration of 3D Maps: Research and implementation of 3D maps to provide users with a more immersive and informative view of environmental data. Enhance the user experience by visualizing geographical and environmental information in a three-dimensional space. UI Refinement: Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the existing UI to identify areas for improvement. Collaboratively design and implement UI updates to create a more cohesive and visually appealing interface. Ensure consistency across different pages and streamline navigation for an intuitive user experience. Code Writing and Testing: Students will actively write, test, and debug code related to the added features and UI enhancements. Conduct thorough testing to ensure the stability, performance, and security of the new functionalities. Feature Research: Engage in research to explore additional features that could further enhance the Carbonaut platform. Propose ideas for future development based on user needs, technological advancements, and industry trends. Expected Outcomes: In-app camera functionality enabling users to contribute visual data. Integration of 3D maps for a more immersive and informative experience. A refined and cohesive UI that enhances user engagement. Well-documented code with thorough testing to ensure stability. Research findings and proposals for additional features to guide future development. Benefits for Students: Practical experience in coding, testing, and collaborating on a real-world project. Exposure to the environmental and sustainability sector. Opportunity to contribute to a platform that promotes positive change. Note: This project is designed to be completed in 80 hours, allowing students to make tangible contributions to the Carbonaut platform while gaining valuable hands-on experience in software development and environmental technology.
