Mobile App: UI/UX Development
Background Panion - a Big Leaf project that is in development: It consists of an App-based platform (android/iOS) that matches Care Workers with their Clients. Nurses, PSWs, physical therapists, phlebotomists, companions, etc. create are matched with clients based on key factors, which are customizable for each party. Care Workers create online profiles with Key Factors like Education, Experience, Language(s), Specialties, Certifications, Vaccines, Geographical and Temporal Availability, etc. Clients and their families or caregivers fill out a profile with requirements such as times and days, expertise, experience, language, education, vaccinations, etc. The system matches Client to Care Worker, or manual matches can be made by users, and Panion takes only 15% of revenues per transaction; one-half of what many agencies take. What makes Panion different? We are focused on Care. Quality Care is something that is a result of a concerted and collaborative effort. We know that Care Workers are often underpaid, underappreciated, mismatched with clients, and required to travel great distances without remuneration. We also know that Care Workers almost never have access to Benefits, Insurance, and Pensions from the agencies to looking which they dedicate their life. Panion offers Care Workers benefits, insurance, and pension plans, takes less revenue, and makes better matches. Panion also lets users Rate each interaction for both parties, via our sister company KnowQuest (using KnowQuest's API). How can you help? We need your help in developing, improving, and optimizing our Panion platform! From design to databasing, security to deployment, this is a new endeavour and you can make a real meaningful impact on the project, the company, and the many many caring people in the industry that we will be able to give better lives and opportunities to! What is Required / Goals:
Better Stakeholder Management / Relationships
Work with our team at KnowQuest to create the ideal employee / union member feedback mechanism. KnowQuest is an evolutionary step in feedback. We are launching our beta this Fall, and want to add more categories to our list of feedback. Currently, we have Academic (higher education) Feedback -the only one in the world!, Movies, TV Shows, Video Games, and Veteran's Affairs / Political Policy in the queue for Fall's Beta. We want to add employee / union member feedback as well. KnowQuest is a different feedback platform because it was built from the ground up to include the very features that reviewers asked for (after 3 years of research into online feedback). Credibility Checks - are you an employee? did you buy the product? did you buy the service? Anonymity - No names, no user IDs, no way to see individual feedback - all ratings aggregated Security - No personal information is every sold, stored, or collected Homogeneity - We break down ratings into standardized components to better empower reviewers to accurately convey their experience(s) - no more comments and singular 5-star overall ratings...now it is comparable, detailed, and customizable
Native App Development
KnowQuest.net and .com will soon launch their beta in ReactJS/MongoDB/NodeJS/HTML etc. The platform is the next evolutionary step in feedback. It is built from the ground up to deal with and eliminate the weaknesses of other rating platforms like Google Reviews, YELP, Feefo, Trust Pilot, etc. This means we check credibility prior to ratings being given. This means we anonymize users and aggregate ratings. This means we do not take, store, or sell personal user information! This means we break down ratings into standardized likert and binary scales to add depth and meaning to each rating (no comments to deal with and no singular 5-star ratings which lack information). Your role, is to start the planning and development process of the ReactNative version of KnowQuest! We do not plan to launch it until late 2024/early 2025 so the only pressure will be for students to meet/exceed learning objectives!
ReactJS / MongoDB Website Development
Work with the great students at Humber College, who are developing the next generating of Consumer and Academic Feedback Platforms. Your main function: To include an AI-powered Suggestions tool! That is your MAIN area of focus! The site is in Beta, and the new version will have improvements to the UI/UX and back end, and admin functions. Students will be working in ReactJS/MongoDB (MERN)
React JS Website Deployment (EC2/AWS/MongoDB - MERN)
Help our team of non IT Professionals deploy a new website built by students like yourself! The site is setup in EC2 AWS and uses React JS with MongoDB (MERN). We have a VPS already (Hostinger.com VPS4 package), but I think we need to stay with AWS. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to walk us through how to deploy the site, deploy it with us, and create the necessary documentation to manage and maintain it!

Academic Ambassadorship Internship
KnowQuest.net is not only the world's first and only academic feedback platform, it is also creating the loudest new voice for students in higher education! Instead of championing Red Bull, Champion Academic Feedback, and Champion Student Voices. Our platform is relaunching this October 1st, shifting from a Minimum Viable Product to a proper platform. This is the Only platform where students and faculty can Credibly, Anonymously, Securely, and Homogeneously give meaningful feedback on their educational experiences including Journal Articles, Textbooks, Courses, the School, Online Learning, and more! As an Academic Feedback Ambassador, your role will be to engage with students, faculty, student groups, student unions/associations, and your school to help us better understand their needs, and to get the message out that there is a place where they can safely give feedback. KnowQuest is always free to use, and aggregated feedback helps future students and faculty to better find and select the right materials for each course. It also helps schools and educators to improve educational outcomes. Lastly, it helps publishers and online content creators to improve their materials and reduce their inefficiencies. Education is more important than ever, and things are changing quickly...in order to help educators, faculty, schools, publishers, and governments to make the right decisions, Students need to be Heard. Become an Ambassador, and let them be heard!
IT Management - Server Setup/Maintenance
Thank you for considering our project! The Big Leaf is managing several entrepreneurial endeavours as well as its own website: Thebigleaf.com: Management Consulting Firm KnowQuest.net: World's Only Academic Feedback Platform! We have setup the VPS, however our web developer is NOT an IT Management expert, nor is he a server setup wizard. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to demonstrate to us: what did we do wrong, what did we do right, what needs fixing, and what needs changing? ... and we need you to implement your recommendations!

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic, professional, and driven communications, PR, and business development students to help us update our website's copy!
Students' Mental Health: How can Academic Feedback Help?
KnowQuest is not just the world's first and only academic feedback platform, it is also the only place that students can voice their opinions on their education experiences anonymously, credibly, securely, and in a more meaningful way than Reddit or Google reviews, etc. Students and professors can sign up with their school email, establishing credibility, and anonymously give insights into their textbooks, online resources, journal/wiki articles, online learning experience, etc. Now we want to investigate the value of giving students the option to anonymously give insights into their mental health, especially during these trying times. Online Platform Retooling: New Tools and Features
Number of Individual Positions available: 6 KnowQuest.net is the world's first and only academic feedback platform. Our current platform uses PHP and MYSQL, as well as Laravel...and we need you to take it to the next level. We have an opportunity for 6 students to expand our markets, industries, and horizons, and we need your help in getting it done. We are shifting from academic feedback, to feedback in general, and adding more features and rating types to our platform. Our platform is called C.A.S.H. C stands for Credibility which is established prior to a user being able to rate. A stands for Anonymity, in that users want their ratings to be anonymous, and anonymous ratings are more honest...thus we aggregate all ratings...no comments! S stands for Security, in that users do not want their personal information collected, stored or sold. Our platform only uses school email addresses to establish credibility for academic feedback, but other feedback (non-academic) will not require a school email, and establishes credibility in another way (e.g. scan a receipt, scan a QR code, automatically after an online purchase, etc.) H stands for Homogeneity, in that our ratings are more than just "Overall" scores; our ratings include context, multiple rating factors, and standard for each product or industry. For example, textbook ratings require an ISBN number, the subject and level it was used in, the year and semester, and the cost to establish context...then the textbook is rated on its Effectiveness, Appropriateness, Visual Aids, Value, Overall, and whether the user will recommend the textbook for a similar subject&level combination (e.g. 1st year undergraduate accounting). This approach makes our ratings Comparable and homogeneous...making them more valuable and more informative. We want to build on the CASH platform and expand and improve our platform! Projects: - New User Interface - API - New Ratings Types (non-education such as Coffee, Wine, Restaurants, Food Delivery, etc.) - A basic app (perhaps using App Sheet?) - On-device verification
