Aim

  1. To enhance student awareness and understanding of corporate purposes and applications of human resource policies.
  2. To provide practical experience with policy development and audit.
  3. To facilitate student awareness of municipal employment contexts in general, and Wetaskiwin County (WC) in particular.

Assignment

Complete a series of progressive segments that ultimately provides WC with 1) a draft policy audit tool, 2) sample audit scores on existing policies, 3) drafts revisions of policies, and 4) comments regarding expected causes or indicators of policy staling. Students also complete an ‘assignment learnings’ reflection document.

Assessment

Professional: Following each segment submission the Community Partner will provide practice-oriented constructive comments that may indicate a) the perceived professional value/quality of the submitted work, b) positive reinforcement, and c) opportunities for professional improvement.
