Our organization is interested in addressing societal issues and supporting social causes. However, we are currently facing funding challenges.

We would like to collaborate with students to find and complete grant applications.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our vision statement and a project we have defined.
  • Developing a needs statement that characterizes the community problem and justifies the need for our project and funding.
  • Identifying potential sponsors and funding opportunities that are a good fit for our organization and project.
  • Improving the clarity and persuasiveness of our company's grant proposal writing.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Identifying new opportunities for community projects.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our organization’s values and purpose
  • Understanding of the community project
  • Identification of potential sponsors and funding sources
  • Recommendations for improving our grant proposals

Bonus steps would include:

  • Defining new community projects with appropriate scopes

Final deliverables should include

  • A 10-minute presentation.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our mission and vision statement
  • Our community projects and previous grant applications
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.

As the founder and CEO of Unique Get Together Society (UGTS) and a woman of Cree descent, I bring 20 years’ experience working in social services. With a track record of getting things done, I’ve spent time working in group homes, women’s shelters, detox centers, foster homes and recently, I have had success working with children who live with autism.

“As a mother of six, I am no stranger to the demands of raising a family (at the best of times) and I know first-hand how difficult that can be without any support.”

My goal is to offer our services and support to any child regardless of their ability and personal care.

We provide a wide range of programs year round designed to strengthen each individual child and enhance their overall physical, mental, social emotional development. We assist families through other services such as nutritional health, family support, advocacy and subsidies
