Details

With the increasing demand for reliable low-carbon energy solutions, the widespread deployment of Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMRs) is anticipated worldwide. As a result, our group of companies is actively expanding its consulting services within the nuclear industry.

We believe that one of the major demand drivers for SMRs will be thermal demand from industries that are looking to decarbonize. Our objective is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the thermal demand.

To achieve this, we are seeking to collaborate with students who can assist us in conducting market research.

Deliverables

The research project will encompass various steps, including:

  1. Reviewing industries that require significant thermal energy (e.g. glass, steelmaking, cement, fertilizer, hydrogen, pulp and paper, etc.)
  2. Map their respective production process, and describing current practices in regard to thermal energy
  3. Build a database of plants with respective thermal energy demand

Bonus steps:

  1. Determine how SMRs could be deployed in each industry

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report
  • A presentation
Mentorship
  • Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project (min. weekly meeting)
  • Will provide high-level consulting skills training
