Our organization is looking for Computer Science/Technology students to work in groups to develop and deliver a full stack mobile and desktop application.

Company goal: We envision releasing the first Automated Financial App in the CANADIAN financial industry for self-awareness through customized education and fulfillment strategies. An App to Empower Canadians with the Knowledge, Skills & Confidence to make responsible financial decisions and become their OWN PERSONAL BANKER

About our Company: At PersonalBanker we take an approach to financial planning that begins with a complete individual tax assessment followed by initiating a comprehensive view into a clients’ financial life. It includes their income, expenses, assets, outlook, as well as habits. (All these are essential components of delivering effective, long-term, broadly based, financial solutions)

We utilize a service approach that is poised in managing our client’s achievement of life goals via an integrated approach to managing their finances through;

• Credit and Financial Management – assess current financial position, based upon cash flow, credit situation, budget and net worth.

• Investment Management – assess assets based on their risk tolerance, time horizon and expected rates of return

• Retirement Planning – compare expected lifestyle in retirement to current retirement assets and planned savings

• Tax Planning – assess tax obligations and strategies used to minimize or defer taxation

• Insurance and Risk Management – manage exposure to unexpected financial loss due to death, health issues, and other risks.

• Estate Planning – assess how a client can meet their objectives upon death in an efficient, cost-effective manner.

Our Vision: is to deliver Scalable Unbiased advice to more Canadians (ROBO ADVISOR) with the availability of a virtual advisor team and coach for collaborative engaging relationship (HYBRID).

The primary focus for the student will be:

• Application Development - Selecting the best technologies for creating the application or feature (i.e. a real-time chat function); creating a fully-functioning application.
• Software Architecture Development - Architecting the software of a new product; improving the architecture of an existing system; porting an architecture of one system into another.
• Software Evaluation (e.g. new CRM) - Conducting a needs analysis; researching available options; evaluating the options within the context of our organization's budget, immediate needs, and projected needs.
• Machine Learning Software Solution - Creating a recommendation engine; spotting trends in existing data; spotting anomalies in data sets.
• Real-Time Data Visualization - Creating a charting system with basic querying functionality; creating a dashboard to visualize key performance metrics of our organization or tool.
• Software Lifecycle Analysis - Improving our existing software development lifecycle methodologies; determining if we should use a waterfall approach or an agile approach; researching tools for continuous delivery or integration.
• Open Source Software Management - Researching potential open source tools for our organization’s use; contributing to open source projects through bug fixing or feature implementation.
• Database Analysis - Decreasing query execution time.

The project should include elements of the following:

○ Utilizes a backend database to support the application

○ Middleware components built by the students that are hosted in the Cloud

○ Client-side user interface - as a desktop, web, or mobile application

What is expected of students?

Students will work with our organization to:

· Develop requirements, user stories and customer archetypes for our project.

· Develop prototypes and solicit feedback from our company

· Iterate and refine designs to meet our needs.

· Front-end and back-end website development or adding features to an existing product

· Application software development

· Full Stack Applications
