Students at Accelerate Her Future will be provided with an opportunity to work with us on conducting and analyzing research related to our mission, developing infographics, social media assets and contributing to our impact reporting process. This engagement will give interns an opportunity to work with a dynamic team within a collaborative environment.
The student will be exposed to a variety of skills and experiences to enhance their knowledge of primary and secondary critical thinking and analysis, research methodology, survey design, design thinking, and written communication. We are a young startup and as a career accelerator for students and recent graduates we care deeply about mentorship. We will help our students succeed as much as we want them to help us enhance our social impact. We are looking for students who have critical thinking skills, a passion for research, tenacity, drive, and see possibilities in all things and who thrive a relentless pursuit to find research reports, articles and papers, particularly those authored by BIPOC communities.
The research assistants will support the research initiatives of AHF under the guidance of our Founder and Fellowship Circle Coordinator. Areas of inquiry including: BIWOC youth, BIWOC youth and employment, BIWOC experiences in business and STEM programs, BIWOC experiences in the workplace.
The position requires skills in data retrieval and manipulation, empirical methods, and data display.
Phase 1
The project may include, but is not limited to:
- Conducting secondary research and literature reviews.
- Working with the AHF team to contribute to the development of research project ideas.
Phase 2
The project may include, but is not limited to:
- Research project development including methodology, quantitative and qualitative research
- Writing reports and thought leadership in terms of conceptualization and articulation.
Who are we looking for? Ideally you have lived experience and ‘insider knowledge’ of the communities we serve at the core of our mission. You are inspired by our mission and like working within a collaborative environment. You value patience, respect, generosity, and good humour in your working relationships. Having an emerging understanding of intersectionality and gender and racial equity principles will be an asset.
Students would be working closely with AHF's Founder and Fellowship Circle Lead. They would attend weekly team meeting and one on one meetings for mentorship and project status on weekly basis.
