This experience focuses on managing human behavior in organizations and its impact on organizational performance. This experience is designed for learners who are equipped with foundational knowledge in computer architecture, IT fundamentals, networking, programming, and information management. Participants will engage in projects that require them to apply their skills in designing, deploying, and managing IT systems within an organizational context. The focus will be on practical application, allowing learners to gain hands-on experience in configuring operating systems, managing IT environments, and ensuring system integration and quality assurance. This experience aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world IT challenges, preparing learners to meet industry demands effectively.

Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Learners in this experience: A. Understand the types of operations and logistics/supply chain problems encountered in managing a business, government or non-profit organization, either manufacturing or service oriented. B. Apply critical thinking and the appropriate business analytical techniques to common problems encountered in various cultural and global business settings. C. Demonstrate an understanding of the increasing importance of sustainability and its close relationship with many essential functions of operations and logistics/supply chain management. D. Demonstrate an understanding of and appreciation for the ethical/legal environment encountered in operations and logistics/supply chain management. E. Use analytical thinking and reasoning skills as applied to operations and logistics/supply chain management problems using innovative Excel based quantitative techniques. F. Implement effective communications and interpersonal skills in problem solving. G. This experience is delivered by business problem solving or strategy development related to Sustainability in operations and logistics/supply chain management.

Does your organization have a cost accounting challenge you want to tackle? In this project, student-consultants working in teams will apply their knowledge of the concept and characteristics of cost with specific emphasis on decision-making situations that require working with accounting information toward the solution of an issue of your choice. They will explore the application of costs to process, job order and standard cost accounting systems. Concepts such as activity-based costing, just-in-time inventory systems and material requirements planning are also covered. The students will develop a written report and virtual presentation for your organization upon completion of the project.
