Project Examples
Requirements
Starting in January 2020, first year MBA students working in teams of 4-5 will spend 80 to 100 hours per group working on an analytics project of your choosing.
Using a data set provided by your organization, they will apply data analysis methods to help your organization derive impactful insights and make more informed decisions.
Based on the information you offer and your goals, they will provide you with a relevant visualization of your data, thorough analysis, and actionable recommendations on topics of your choice.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Analyzing sales information to assess the effectiveness of a program or promotion.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of a staff training program to understand its impact on absenteeism.
- Evaluating historical sales data to identify market trends and provide predictions.
- Analyzing data on buyers to identify key markets or challenges.
- Analyzing consumer feedback to identify key challenges and areas of strength.
- Identifying trends in demand to help with forecasting
- Analyzing data on customer satisfaction to highlight key areas for improvement

The organization must be available to present their project to the two sections of the class on January 15, 2020 in person or remotely
Minimum of 2-4 interactions with the students in-person or remotely (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project).
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact person who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
The organization is invited to attend in person or remotely the end of semester students' presentation of their final projects.
