In this project, students will conduct research and develop an actionable strategy and make recommendations to solve a leadership challenge faced by your organization, stakeholders, and/or clients.
The students in this course are Master's level Educational Leadership students, bound for roles as school principals. These students have experience as teachers, and all students go through a background check before being enrolled in this course.
Learners
The final project deliverables might include:
- 10-15 minute presentation of key findings and recommendations.
- A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights, and recommendations.

Project Examples
Requirements
Beginning in September, masters students will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.
Project activities might include but are not limited to:
- Explaining the concepts of leadership, describe leadership skills, leadership styles, and the power of resonant leadership.
- Discussing the importance of knowing one’s strengths and limitations, and identify tools necessary for developing increased self-awareness that can also help to establish a “scientist identity”.
- Recognizing the power of mentors and role models.
- Integrating leadership ability, critical thinking, self-awareness, and effective communication skills using approaches driven by emotional intelligence.
- Outlining a leadership style that can be clearly articulated, continuously improved, adapted to change and used to excel, especially as a scientist.
- Applying concepts of global competence to collaborative problem-solving.
