Marketing Intern
The Project We are launching a crowdfunding campaign in March. We have created a new brand name, new identity and new products that will be launched as a part of this. We need help in various marketing related activities to spread awareness of the campaign. Not everything has to be completed by 1 person as part of the project. We can select to focus on areas that are of the most interest to you: PR - build list of contacts that could be interested in covering what we do. Draft outreach communications, releases and follow-ups Social Media - create social media calendar and content to spread awareness of campaign. Ideas, content, messaging, etc. Content - draft blog posts, articles, emails and other content pieces that can be used for marketing purposes Marketing Research - find other channels for marketing purposes (e.g. list of Facebook groups, organizations, companies, etc.) based on our target audience Case studies - create case studies that can be used on our website, blog, social media, etc based on past customer inputs You do not need to be of South Asian descent or have knowledge of South Asian languages to participate Our mission Our company was created over a year ago with a specific goal to create products and services that make it easier for children of South Asian descent to learn their native languages. So far, our focus has been on a single language - Urdu. We want to become excellent in a single language, and then extend our offerings to other languages (e.g. Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, etc.) What we do Over the past year we have published a series of bilingual books in Urdu. We are the first ones to include English transliteration, in addition to English translations besides the Urdu script. We have received excellent feedback over the last year having sold thousands of books around the globe, with significant presence in Canada, the US and the UK.
Website UI / UX Design Optimization
Our company would like to explore re-designing our current website with one that is optimized for all major browsers and be mobile-friendly We would like a group of students to design a new prototype web application based off of our current website’s functionality. This will involve: Conducting background research on our existing web application for the product. Creating a QR Code for the website. Identifying key areas of our current website and what areas of focus might return the best results in a redesign. Learning and using various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as this is the latest and greatest tool currently available. Creation of a screen-by-screen UX / UI prototype of a web application which can be used on all major browsers and be mobile-friendly Bonus steps in the process would also include: Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this
