Students at Accelerate Her Future will be provided with an opportunity to develop strategies to enhance online community engagement. The students will also assist with conducing user research and competitive research on online community best practices and web-based platforms. This engagement will give interns an opportunity to work with a dynamic team within a collaborative environment.

The student will be exposed to a variety of skills and experiences to enhance their knowledge of online communities, needs assessment, competitive research, and user research interviews. We are a young startup and as a career accelerator for students and recent graduates we care deeply about mentorship. We will help our students succeed as much as we want them to help us enhance our community engagement and social impact. We are looking for students who have creative vision, tenacity, drive, and see possibilities in all things and who thrive at developing strategies and making recommendations.

To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:

• Develop and execute strategies to enhance online community engagement
• Assist with developing a community onboarding guide
• Assist with digital marketing strategies to attract new members to the community
• Conduct research on best practices for community engagement and share findings internally
• Conduct User Research interviews to validate online community model
• Assist with competitive research and provide recommendations for a web-based platform encompassing online courses and community

Who are we looking for? Ideally you have lived experience and ‘insider knowledge’ of the communities we serve at the core of our mission. You are inspired by our mission and like working within a collaborative environment. You value patience, respect, generosity, and good humour in your working relationships. Having an emerging understanding of intersectionality and gender and racial equity principles will be an asset.We are looking to invest in new software to meet our inter-departmental needs and assist our growth. We aren’t certain of the options that are available to us, or the features and benefits of each. We would like for students to help us research and choose the most ideal software to invest in.

Students will work closely with AHF's Founder and Fellowship Circle Coordinator. You will participate in weekly team meetings and one to one project status and mentorship meetings.
