Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from National University to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of 4 or 8 weeks, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Students in this program/course gain hands-on experience using the very latest tools and technologies that make up the current media arts workspace. Students learn the latest methodologies used for visual communication in business, marketing, education, and entertainment.The knowledge and experience gained includes transmedia, visually literate future that incorporates web design, audio, video, visual effects, layout and design, image creation and editing, and video game design.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the students and the organization. (details negotiable, can change after the fact. Can put in specifics or be general. Can suggest employers provide progress or student, but can change later. Just make sure to be clear w/employer. in writing or something; e.g. outline)

Some final project deliverables might include:

  1. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations
Project Examples

Students will work individually or groups up to three students with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis. (no max number of charcters; list categories/disciplines and types of projects.

Project activities that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  • Document all phases of the production process.
  • Demonstrate mastery of design with a digital asset for output on various platforms.
  • Apply usability testing to make adjustments for final output.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Student will be able to add their project deliverable(s) to their portfolio

Be available for a kickoff call with the student and instructor during the 1st week of the project

Be available for a quick phone/virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course. (Can ask very specific questions to employers if they need to be aware of something or visa versa.)

Provide a dedicated contact person who is available for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address students’ questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.

Provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide relevant information/data as needed for the project.
