A well-designed user experience builds trust and loyalty with your target audience. UX design creates a positive and well-defined customer journey. In this project, students will implement the UX design process to provide you with an optimized prototype for your website or app.


Note: Due to the vast amount of applications, I may not be able to respond to all of you. Please be clear about what your organization does and why you would benefit from the students working on your app or website.


The project will begin November 24, 2024 – February 2, 2025

Please note you're required to dedicate a minimum of 1 hour check-in with the student team every week.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

The final project deliverables will include:

  • A prototype of your website or app.
  • A 30-minute presentation on research, findings, and justifications of the proposed design with a report.

Project Examples

Based on your organizations goals, students will apply skills in consumer research, wireframing, design, and testing to create a website or app layout that achieves your goals.

Project tasks include:

  • Holding a discovery meeting to understand your needs and develop a project scope.
  • Interviewing users to gather applicable design specs.
  • Conducting user testing to understand and optimize existing design challenges.
  • Applying design thinking theory and practices in creating a prototype.

Example projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Redesigning an existing website, webpage, or app.
  • Designing a new website, webpage, or app.
  • Optimizing user experience of a specific part of a website, webpage, or app.

Schedule (7 Week engagement):

• Teams will have 7 weeks to provide a solution for your organization

Week 1: Project/Problem Statement

Week 2: Design Brief / User Research Plan

Week 3: User Research Report

Week 4: Value Proposition Canvas + 5-10 Concept Sketches

Week 5: Three Concepts Review

Week 6: Testing/ Prototyping Report

Week 7: Zoom: Final Project Solution and Pitch Presentation
